Apple Pay Terms and Conditions

1.1 Registration
It is important that you read these terms and conditions carefully.  These terms are in addition to the usual terms that govern your bank account with Metro Bank and in the event of a conflict between them, your bank account terms shall prevail.  Having reviewed these terms and conditions, if you would like to activate and proceed to use Apple Pay, please scroll to the bottom and press the ‘Accept’ button.

1.2 What is Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is a quick and easy way for you to make purchases in person or online using a mobile phone, watch or any other kind of device that is compatible.  Apple Pay is a third party payment system, created and managed by Apple.  It works by creating a virtual representation of your Metro Bank card on your device, such that you can then use that device to make contactless payments to contactless-enabled terminals, or to online merchants that participate in the Apple Pay scheme.

1.3 How to use Apple Pay
For information on how to use Apple Pay, please see our website guide; ‘How to Use Apple Pay’ and our FAQs at www.metrobankonline.co.uk/applepay/.  The comprehensive guide is here: http://www.apple.com/uk/apple-pay/

1.4 Security
When you register your Metro Credit or Debit card with Apple Pay, it is important that you keep your device secure. It is important that you set a device passcode that is different from any details you use to operate your Metro Bank account online as this will help to ensure your device remains secure.

We advise that you don’t let anyone else use Apple Pay on your device. If you share your Apple device with someone else or allow them to use Touch ID or your passcode, you will be responsible for any payments they may make from your device. If you believe that somebody else knows any security information that you use for Apple Pay or your device, you should change that information immediately.

1.4.1 If you lose your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.
If your iPhone or iPad is ever lost or stolen, you can use Find My iPhone to quickly put your device in Lost Mode to suspend Apple Pay, or you can wipe your device clean completely. You can also stop the ability to make payments from credit and debit cards on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch with iCloud. Just log in to iCloud.com and click Settings. You can learn more about Find My iPhone here: http://www.apple.com/uk/apple-pay/

If you don’t have the Find My iPhone app, please call Metro Bank on (0345) 4503255 and mention that you’re an Apple Pay customer so that we can disable your card for use with Apple Pay. If you obtain a new Apple device(s), please ensure that you erase all data from the old device to protect your Apple Pay and personal information.

1.5 Your personal information and data protection

1.5.1 How Apple Pay will use your information
In order to allow you to use your Metro Bank credit or debit card, your personal data will be processed in accordance with the privacy terms and conditions you agreed to when entering into your relationship with us. When you pay for goods and services in shops using Apple Pay, neither Apple nor your Apple device sends your actual credit or debit card numbers to merchants. When you pay for apps on your Apple device via Apple Pay, the merchant will only receive information you have provided and authorised to share in order to fulfil your order. Such information includes your name, email and postal address.

Apple Pay retains anonymous transaction information, such as approximate purchase amount. This information can’t be traced back to you and never includes details of your purchase. Apple uses this information to develop and improve its technology further and for fraud prevention purposes.

1.5.2 Information we collect from Apple Pay
We will collect information about you from Apple for verification purposes and to prevent and to detect fraud. We will also collect details of your recent Apple Pay transactions, which will appear on your monthly statements.

1.5.3 Communication

1.5.4 Keeping us informed
It is important that you keep your contact details up to date so that we can contact you about your account if needed.

1.5.5 Sharing your information with third parties
We will not share your information with any third party not already mentioned within this agreement or outside of the terms and conditions you accepted when starting your relationship with us.
