Metro Bank’s Luton store donated several food bags and £500 to help support Luton Foodbank as part of its Christmas Community Campaign to spread the warmth this winter. In recognition of the current cost of living challenges. Metro Bank donated £35,000 to over 70 community charities, all of which are local to its stores, instead of having a Christmas tree in each store.
Luton Foodbank provides free, nutritionally balanced, and culturally appropriate food to people in hardship or distress who are referred by a network of partner agencies as well as signposting information to local advice and information services.
Luton residents and businesses donated the items most urgently needed by the foodbank including food, drink and household items at the Castle Street store.
‘’We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who supported our campaign this Christmas,’’ explains Luton Metro Bank Store Manager, Yasmin Suleman. “We are really proud that thanks to our customers and donors, we were able help the Luton Foodbank continue the amazing work they do and provide much need support over Christmas in some small way.’’
Metro Bank’s Luton store is located at 10-20 Castle Street, Luton, LU1 3AJ. The store is currently open Monday – Saturday 8:30am - 6pm. Sunday: 11am - 5pm.
