Kids rock at Metro Bank

Kids are always welcome at Metro Bank. They'll love coming in store to use our Magic Money Machines. Plus, they can open accounts for young people. And we help kids in schools too, providing financial education for the next generation with our Money Zone programme.

Our financial education programme teaches school kids how money, banking and personal finance works.

Our Financial Education Programme

We don't just treat kids well in our stores – we like to help them in their schools too. Get your pupils money smart with our financial education programme, Money Zone. It teaches them how money, banking and personal finance works while they’re still at school.

Meet the world of money

Metro Bank Money Zone introduces Key Stage 2 and 3 (Years 4 to 8) pupils to financial skills, helping them understand how money, saving and banking work. Our sessions are ideal for incorporating into your school’s PSHE curriculum, and are linked to the wider government curriculum guidelines.

Our programme

We teach the Money Zone Key Stage 2 and 3 programmes over 4 sessions:

  • our trained bank colleague will come to your classroom to teach the first 3 sessions
  • the fourth session takes place at a Metro Bank store. Pupils meet real Metro Bank cashiers, dare to step inside a vault, experience our Magic Money Machine and more!
  • after they’ve finished the programme, each pupil gets a certificate and a goodie bag.

Exciting activities

Fun lesson plans, teachers notes, learner workbooks and activities for all abilities are part of the programme. These include learning about different types of banking accounts and basic tips on managing money. You can do all the activities during the sessions or keep some back for later extension work.
