A Day of Service and Solidarity
The UK’s community bank, Metro Bank, gives every colleague a Day to Amaze – essentially a paid day off to support a local charity or good cause. Metro Bank colleagues from the Mortgage Underwriting Team have recently dedicated their time to support the mission of Oxfam, a global organization working to alleviate poverty and injustice around the world.
Ash Narendran, Neelum Khan, Faustina Anderson, Shiv Gupta, and Stephen Bennett, members of the Mortgage Underwriting Team, took the initiative to volunteer with Oxfam. Their commitment involved serving customers, sorting items, pricing stock, and creating a captivating window display to attract visitors to the Oxfam store.
Their experience was nothing short of incredible as they engaged with the community and witnessed first hand the impact of Oxfam’s work in making a difference in people’s lives. Inspired by their volunteering experience, the colleagues encourage others to join the cause and volunteer their time for meaningful initiatives.
“It was truly fulfilling to be able to contribute to Oxfam’s noble cause,” says Metro Bank’s Mortgage Underwriting Manager, Ash Narendran. “Every action, big or small, makes a difference, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this impactful work.”
