Metro Bank’s Birmingham store will be celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) on Wednesday March 8th with a complimentary networking event – Empowering Women in Business from 1 -3pm at its High Street store with three prominent women speaking at the event.
International Women's Day celebrates women's rights and inspires people to act in the ongoing fight for gender equality - this year’s IWD theme is Embrace Equity.
Speaking at the event will be Bal Heer, CEO/ Founder of Regional Homes who will talk about Defying The Odds, Marie Wicker, Director of Certanovo Coaching & Development will talk about Discovering Your Value and there will be a question and answer session with Charlene Wall, Director & Co-Founder of Wood Manor Properties.

Bal Heer is CEO and Founder of Regional Homes, multi award winning ‘Go to’ property expert and a successful entrepreneur, published author, public speaker, and proud mother, Bal seeks to inspire others to pursue their ambitions and realise their true potential. A former officer of West Midlands Police, today Bal is an estate agent evangelist.
Marie Wicker is an award winning executive and leadership coach for women, public speaker and founder of Certanovo Coaching & Development and wife, mum and stepmum. Her passion and mission are to help financial services organisations equip and empower their talent and teams to close the gender gap and achieve sustainable business results and to help women lead with more confidence, advance to the rooms where decisions are made and create careers they love.
Nominated ‘Businesswomen of the Year’ in 2018 and 2019 and recognised as Networking of the Year finalist in the 2022 Birmingham Business Awards, Charlene Wall is Head of Business Development and Project Manager at Wood Manor Properties. Her aim is to create new opportunities and inspire change for Women in the construction industry. Charlene champions the belief that success and development should be rewarded by merit and expertise, not gender.
