The UK’s community bank, Metro Bank, welcomed Gareth Bacon, Member of Parliament for Orpington to its Cray Avenue store last week.
Hosted by Metro Bank local director Andre van Zijl, Gareth Bacon enjoyed a tour of the bank including its safe along with Store Manager Daniel Shade. Gareth met colleagues and customers and was interested in the store's reach and extended opening hours which include evenings and weekends – especially as so many fringe towns had lost a bank presence.
“As a community bank, we are here to support our local businesses as well as Orpington residents,” explains Orpington Metro Bank’s Local Director, Andre van Zijl. “Gareth was keen to hear about how we support local businesses with our relationship banking model – as every store has both local business managers and a local director specifically to help and support local SMEs.
“Our business customers can use our complimentary conference room for meetings and Gareth expressed an interest in potentially hosting his constituency surgery in store in the near future.”
Metro Bank’s Orpington store is located at Unit 4, Nugent Retail Park, Cray Avenue, Orpington, BR5 3RP. The store is currently open Monday – Saturday 8:30am - 6pm. Sunday: 11am - 5pm.
