Cardiff Metro Bank Managers Fundraise for NSPCC
Metro Bank’s Cardiff store manager, James Ellacott, and assistant store manager, Helen Griffiths, are running in Cardiff’s half marathon to raise much needed funds for the NSPCC.
The Cardiff University Cardiff Half Marathon will take place on 27 March 2022. Starting outside Cardiff Castle, runners pass the capital's most iconic landmarks before a grandstand finish in the heart of the city.
James and Helen are both unexperienced runners, but they really want to make an impact by supporting the local community and raising money for such a deserving cause.
The NSPCC is raising money for Childline. A child contacts Childline every 25 seconds and it costs £4 to answer their call. By raising £400, runners could pay for up to 100 children to get the help and support they need from Childline counsellors.
“As a community bank, we want to support key events in the Cardiff calendar,” explains Cardiff Metro Bank’s Store Manager, James Ellacott. “Although I have put the hours in, I’m getting more and more nervous by the day! A huge thank you to all our colleagues and customers for their support.”
Helen Griffiths, Cardiff Metro Bank’s Assistant Store Manager added: “I’m so excited to be participating in the half marathon to support Childline, knowing that every step I take will help provide counselling services for young children.”
