Metro Bank today announces the appointment of James Reuben to their board as a non-executive director.
“I am delighted to join the Metro Bank board and work side-by-side with such highly experienced board members,” said Reuben. “It’s a privilege to be part of an organisation that is revolutionising banking for the better, with its customer-friendly ethos and business practices.”
James is an experienced residential and commercial property specialist and helped co-ordinate the regeneration of a large area of central London (Shepherds Market), as well as the build-out and operations of London Oxford airport. He is now the Managing Partner of Melbury Capital, an investment company which focuses on the natural resources sector. Between 2008 and 2010, Reuben was a Board Director for Motcomb Estates, a property advisory business within the UK, with a core focus on urban regeneration.
In 2002 he helped establish the Reuben Foundation, a UK registered charity of which he remains a Trustee, committed to the advancement of healthcare and education globally. In this role, James oversaw the launch of The Reuben Foundation Children’s Cancer Centre, the largest paediatric cancer treatment centre in Europe.
Politically, James has worked with the Conservative Party fundraising team since 2006 and is now Chairman of BackBoris2012 launch appeal, the campaign for Boris Johnson’s re-election as Mayor of London.
This appointment comes as Metro Bank prepares to open their ninth store in Uxbridge and follows shortly after the appointment of Luke Johnson as a non executive director.
