Metro Bank continues its fast paced expansion with the opening of its 24th store in Edgware. To mark the opening, the UK’s most revolutionary bank will be holding two days of celebrations on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th December. Edgware residents and businesses visiting the store will experience an array of entertainment; including stilt walkers, face painting, performing dogs, balloons and music, and most importantly, a new convenient customer focused bank for personal and business customers.

The new Edgware Metro Bank store can be found in the Broadwalk Centre, Station Road, HA8 7BD. Customers will be looked after by a team led by Local Director Chris Neophytou and Store Manager Tanira Coats.

Metro Bank launched in July 2010 with a focus on providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience to customers. It is bringing back traditional retail banking, coupled with amazing technology. Unlike any other bank in the UK, Metro Bank also provides free coin counting for customers and non-customers with Metro Bank Magic Money Machines, instant printing and replacements for lost or stolen debit cards*, and a 24 hour contact centre manned by people not machines.

All of these benefits can be enjoyed at a time that is convenient to local residents and businesses as Metro Bank is open 8am – 8pm Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm Saturday and 11am – 5pm Sunday and bank holidays, 362 days a year.

Customers wishing to reserve a Safe Deposit Box at the Edgware store, can do so online from Thursday 5th December in advance of the opening by visiting What’s more, Dogs Rule at Metro Bank, so customers in Edgware are invited to bring their canine friends along with them to receive their own treats.

Craig Donaldson, Chief Executive Officer at Metro Bank, said: “We’re very excited to open our doors in the Broadwalk Centre, and are looking forward to quickly becoming an important part of the local community. Following the success of our local store in Borehamwood, we’re delighted to be broadening our reach in north London. The move into Edgware is a strong signal of our commitment to growing our store network in the area. We’re a very different kind of a bank, holding community events and networking evenings regularly in our stores. We look forward to welcoming personal and business customers in Edgware to join us on our journey as we revolutionise banking.

“Metro Bank’s continued success and growth is a triumph for customer service. We know what customers want, and we’ve seen hundreds of thousands of people join us for the unparalleled levels of service and convenience we offer. We are very excited that from 13th December the people and businesses of Edgware will be able to switch to our award winning current account** in just seven working days through our Easy, Instant and Guaranteed service.”

Metro Bank’s growth will continue into 2014, with new stores planned for Milton Keynes, Epsom and Brighton. The bank has seen a 60% increase in the number of stores opened over the course of 2013.
