Metro Bank, the revolution in British banking, is set to open its 67th store in Enfield, creating around 25 new jobs for local people. To celebrate its arrival, the bank is inviting residents and local businesses to a two-day long launch party on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 June.
The new seven-day-a-week store, located on Church Street, will combine face-to-face banking with state-of-the-art technology, providing residents and businesses with a customer centric and convenient banking experience.
The bank, which prides itself on delivering tangible benefits to customers through its growing network of stores, will enable customers to visit at a time convenient to them, without an appointment, and open a personal account on-the-spot. The instant account opening process means that within 20 minutes, personal customers can leave with a printed debit card, along with internet and mobile banking all set up. 1,600 safety deposit boxes will also be available for residents to reserve prior to the store’s official opening.
The grand opening event will kick off at 8am on Friday 21 June, with entertainment for the whole community to enjoy, including stilt walkers, a DJ, free manicures and face painting. Enfield Mayor, worshipful Cllr Kate Anolue will officially open the store, along with the store’s hosts, Local Director, Guy Jones-Owen and Store Manager, Abdul Khamil.
The new store will also be hosting its first Money Zone event, Metro Bank’s financial education programme for primary school children, on Friday morning at the launch – with a group of local children from Freezywater St. George's Primary School coming in to learn how money, banking and personal finance works.
Enfield Council Leader, Cllr Nesil Caliskan said: “Enfield’s residents want a well-connected and vibrant town centre, which has all the facilities they need while retaining its traditional high street feel, so it’s great to see another new business investing in Enfield Town. Enfield Council will be working closely with local communities and traders over the next few months to plan for future growth in the borough and make sure our town centres remain attractive, successful and thriving.”
Local business owners will benefit from store-based expert Business Managers ready to support them to grow and develop, as well as free access to the Forum of Private Business’ wealth of bespoke resources.
Craig Donaldson, CEO at Metro Bank added: “We’re thrilled to be bringing the very best in customer service and convenience to local residents and businesses in Enfield as we open our 67th store. Our continued expansion across Britain is empowering communities and businesses, and providing them real choice in who they bank with.
“Our Enfield store will also give local people and businesses more than just a place to do their banking, it will be a hub to support them, whether it’s through a networking or charity event, or simply being able to speak to someone face-to-face seven days a week, 362 days a year.”
The new store, located at 1-3 Market Chambers, Church Street, Enfield, EN2 6AA, will be open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm on Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday and bank holidays, 362 days a year.
