  • New bank to offer residents and business unparalleled levels of customer service and convenience

Metro Bank, the revolution in British banking, is bringing its award-winning customer service to the historic city of Bath, with the opening of its 60th store. To celebrate the occasion, the bank is inviting local residents and businesses to a two-day long party on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 October.

The party will be jam-packed with freebies and entertainment for the whole community to enjoy, including stilt walkers, a DJ, free manicures and face painting. The Deputy Mayor of Bath, Dr Anthony Clarke will officially open the store on Friday morning, along with the bank’s hosts, Local Director, Chris Mapp and Store Manager, Carley Hounsell.

Metro Bank launched in 2010 as the first new high street bank in more than 100 years, focusing on providing customers with an unparalleled banking experience across its stores, online, mobile app and over the phone. Since opening its doors, the bank has rapidly expanded across the UK, including opening in neighbouring Bristol at the end of September.

Craig Donaldson, CEO at Metro Bank said: “We at Metro Bank, especially the team in Bath can’t wait to get started and welcome people to their new seven-days-a-week store, which will provide traditional relationship banking supported by state-of-the-art technology. The reception we’ve already received from both local residents and business has been incredible and really shows that people are ready for a bank that puts them first. We’re absolutely delighted to be bringing the banking revolution to one of the UK’s leading cities.”

Unlike any other high-street bank, Metro Bank Bath will provide instant account opening, along with on-the-spot card printing, meaning customers can walk in without an appointment and walk out with a fully-functioning account. What’s more, the store will have over 3,000 safe deposit boxes for people to store their valuables and coin counting facilities which are free for everyone.

The new store will be located at 18-19 Stall Street, BA1 1QB, and open at the most convenient time for local people from 8am to 8pm Monday to Fridays, 8am to 6pm on Saturdays and 11am to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays, 362 days a year.
