Metro Bank, the revolution in British banking, is bringing its award-winning customer-focused banking experience to the city of Bristol, with the opening of its 59th store in Broadmead Shopping Quarter. To celebrate its arrival, the bank is inviting local residents and businesses to a two-day long party on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 September.

The event will kick off at 8am on Friday, with freebies and entertainment for the whole community to enjoy, including stilt walkers, a DJ, free manicures and face painting.  The Deputy Mayor of Bristol, Craig Cheney will officially open the store, along with the store’s hosts, Local Director, Marc Watters and Store Manager, Shannon Finlayson.

John Hirst, CEO at Bristol Broadmead BID said: “We’re delighted to welcome Metro Bank to Bristol, taking pride of place in the heart of our shopping district. The banking revolution will bring more choice to local residents and businesses for their banking needs.”

With a focus on traditional face-to-face banking, supported by state-of-the-art technology,  customers are able to bank however, whenever and wherever they choose; whether that’s in store, online, through the bank’s award-winning app or over the phone. Unlike any other bank, Metro Bank provides instant account opening, along with on-the-spot card printing, meaning customers can walk in without an appointment and walk out with a fully-functioning account. What’s more, the store will also have over 4,000 safe deposit boxes for people to store their valuables and coin counting facilities which are free for everyone.

Craig Donaldson, CEO at Metro Bank added “Joining the Bristol community is a real milestone for us and we can’t wait to serve the local residents and businesses in the area. As well as providing unparalleled service and convenience, our new store will act as a community hub, hosting a range of networking, charity fundraisers and family events throughout the year for local people. We simply can’t wait.”

The new store is located at 40-46 Broadmead, BS1 3HB, and will be open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Fridays, 8am to 6pm on Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays, 362 days a year.
