1 Dogs are welcome instore and it’s estimated that nearly 2,000 have visited the store since it opened with miraculously only one accident to date!
2 The store has remained open throughout the pandemic and is currently open Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm.
3 During Covid the store colleagues not only cut their hair to raise money for charity, but also donated time every week for two months to support a local food bank feeding the homeless.
4 The store has over 800 safe deposit boxes – but none of them contain any cash as it’s illegal to store cash in a safe deposit box – so nothing like the movies.
5 High Street Kensington was the 6th Metro Bank to open when the Bank had just 10,000 customer accounts – today Metro Bank has over 2.2 million.
6 People have lived and worked around the High Street Kensington area from Saxon Times but its retail boom started in 1865.
7 There has been one attempted armed robbery since the store opened.
