Metro Bank increases its national BDM presence

10th June 2015

Metro Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of three new field based Business Development Managers (BDMs) as part of its plans to expand its intermediary operations throughout England and Wales.

Claire Askham joins Metro Bank from Legal & General Mortgage Club and will be responsible for the North of England, Harsha Dahyea joins from The State Bank of India and will oversee operations in the Midlands and Dominic Sheahan joins from Commercial First to manage the intermediary relationships in the South West. All three will report directly into Caroline Mirakian, head of key accounts.

Charles Morley, head of mortgage distribution at Metro Bank said: “I am delighted to be welcoming three very experienced and passionate individuals to our rapidly growing team. Together, they will play a pivotal role in driving forward our intermediary growth plans across England and Wales. The move to appoint regionally-based BDMs comes as a direct response to feedback we’ve received from intermediaries as part of our ongoing conversations to ensure we’re meeting the needs of the industry.

“The appointments of Claire, Harsha and Dominic will help us to better understand and respond to the needs of intermediaries and customers up and down the country and we’re confident this will be a positive development for both our partners and customers.”

Metro Bank continues to see strong appetite from both customers and intermediaries, and attributes this success to its core focus on customer service. All Metro Bank mortgages are individually underwritten to suit customers’ circumstances. During the last year, Metro Bank has doubled its mortgage lending and expects to become one of the top 10 lenders in the UK within the next few years.
