- Bank is providing a cool space across its 78 locations
Metro Bank is supporting communities during the heatwave by offering a place to cool down this summer, with all 78 stores open to members of the public as well as customers, providing a welcoming space for anyone needing respite from the hot weather.
Visitors needing to take shelter will be able to make use of seating areas, in an air-conditioned environment, and access drinking water. The cool space will be available during normal store opening hours, from June through to 1 September.
Metro Bank’s London-based stores will also take part in the Greater London Authority’s Cool Spaces initiative, supporting the GLA’s summer-long scheme to provide places for the public to stay cool across the capital.
Kerry Reynolds, Director of Retail and Business Banking at Metro Bank, said: “Our stores are at the heart of the communities we serve, so we’re pleased to support with providing cool spaces this summer. By making our stores available to anyone needing a break from the heat, not just customers, we hope to provide support to help people stay comfortable during the warmest periods of the year.”
