Metro Bank, the revolutionary high street bank, is proud to announce on the first anniversary of its Asian Banking Group, that it has provided a significant loan to the Lohana Community North London.
The new loan facility has enabled the Lohana Charitable Foundation to open the Dhamecha Lohana Centre, a 25,000 sq. ft community centre in the heart of South Harrow, with its opening ceremony attracting over 1000 people from the local community. The centre, which is the first of its kind, provides a focal venue for the Lohana community to host its cultural, religious, social and sporting events, to the benefit of the whole local area.
Metro Bank has developed a strong relationship with the Lohana community and its members, and also provides banking services for the Lohana Charitable Foundation. Metro Bank’s Asian Banking Group led by Nimesh Sanghrajka, which acts as a hub for the local Asian business community, understands the cultural diversities present in many business communities and reflects the bank’s strong community focus. The group hosts regular events, including breakfast seminars and networking sessions for its members, which includes Metro Bank’s existing customers and non-customers.
Manish Sangani, Chairman, Lohana Charitable Foundation said, “We are very grateful and thankful to Metro Bank for the support and we look forward to working with the bank. The community will benefit from the centre, which will cater for all generations.”
Vernon Hill, Chairman, Metro Bank said, “As a community bank, we pride ourselves on the strong relationships we have with our customers and local communities. Our Asian Banking Group was set up to deepen our already strong relationships with local Asian business communities, and we’ve seen huge support from both customers and non-customers alike. We already have a great relationship with many members of the Lohana community, and we’re delighted to have been able to support them further with the financing of such a vibrant and impressive centre. We look forward to continuing to work with the community in years to come.”
