The UK’s community bank, Metro Bank, gives every colleague a Day to Amaze – a paid day off to give back to the community by supporting a local charity or a good cause. Metro Bank colleagues from the operational resilience and business risk department spent their Day to Amaze organising clothes donations and volunteering for Whitechapel Mission.
The Whitechapel Mission charity has been serving homeless and marginalised people since 1876 and provides skills training, career advice, activity programmes and specialist support for complex needs. The charity also prepares breakfast for homeless people and provides essential toiletries as well as clothes.
“Supporting Whitechapel Mission for one day was inspiring just how kind and resilient in serving the homeless the charity are and how much work they do 365 days of the year is incredible,” says Rebecca Tucknott, Lead Risk Manager at Metro Bank. “Making a difference for local people in need is in synergy with our culture and at Metro Bank we hope to volunteer there again soon.”
