London’s dogs have exercised their democratic right and the results are in! Wagg Foods have been named Metro Bank’s official Doggie Treat, as voted for by Metro Bank’s four legged fans.

The prize was handed over last night at a glittering awards ceremony at Metro Bank’s Holborn store, where Linda Mitchell from Wagg Foods was presented with a golden dog biscuit holder to celebrate their success. Metro Bank’s canine customers enjoyed meeting stunt dogs from the silver screen, alongside the treats, water bowls and Metro Doggie scarves given out free to all Metro Bank customers.

Thousands of pampered pooches flocked to Metro Bank’s 12 Greater London stores to win Wagg’s the pride of place on Metro Bank counters. As well as in store, some clever doggies also voted online, seeing Wagg’s soar into first place. After voting, 13 lucky Metro Bank customers won a special Doggie Goodie basket, stuffed with treats and toys.

Metro Bank’s CCO (Chief Canine Officer) Sir Duffield wanted to especially congratulate his four legged friends from Bromley, who turned out in droves to their local store, and sniffed out the highest number of votes. ‘Dogs Rule’ at Metro Bank, and Metro Bank works with Battersea Dogs and Cats home in a unique scheme to pay the rehoming fee of any dog or cat adopted by a Metro Bank customer.

Craig Donaldson, Chief Executive of Metro Bank, commented at the awards ceremony: “Metro Bank is the only High Street Bank where Dogs Rule. We love our customers and we love their Dogs! In fact, we love them so much that last year Metro Bank won the Kennel Club’s Open for Dogs on the High Street award, and we hold regular Adopt-a-thons in our stores to rehome Battersea dogs and cats.

“What makes this prize so special is it was voted for entirely by man’s best friend. So congratulations to Wagg Foods, this year’s official Metro Bank doggie treat.”
