Expert Metro Bank Store Manager Judges Tycoon Enterprise Competition

 

Louise Kemp, the store manager at  Metro Bank’s Merry Hill store has been appointed as one of three judges for Dudley College’s Tycoon Enterprise competition organised by the Peter Jones Foundation – a charity aimed at encouraging, educating and empowering young people achieve their potential.

Tycoon Enterprise competition is a unique national enterprise competition for students aged 6 -18 years old. Participating teams write a business plan and are lent money to start a business and trade, competing with other student companies through a sophisticated kickstarter style platform, in a safe and controlled environment.

Louise Kemp’s role consists of being a critical friend or mentor, deciding whether business ideas are viable, giving hints and tips on how to write a business plan, things to consider when writing one and how to run a business.

“As a community bank, it is rewarding to be part of such a real world education task aimed at shaping young people to be successful entrepreneurs,” says Louise Kemp, Merry Hill Metro Bank’s Store Manager. “I am delighted to be mentoring the students throughout the challenge. We are looking forward to an amazing term supporting the students in raising funds for such a deserving cause. We also enjoy teaching students fundamental life skills through our Money Zone programme – a series of free financial education lessons that Metro Bank has delivered to over a quarter or a million school children.”

Metro Bank’s Merry Hill store is located at 50 Two Woods Lane, Brierley Hill DY5 1TA. The store is currently open Monday – Saturday: 8:30am - 6pm, Sunday: 11am - 5pm.
