Metro Bank, the community bank, recently welcomed Mike Wood, Member of Parliament for Dudley South and Councillor Adam Davies, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council to its Two Woods Lane store.
Hosted by Metro Bank’s Local Director, Lee Currier and Rachel Fletcher, Local Business Manager, Mike and Adam enjoyed a tour of the bank, including the safe deposit boxes, vault, drive thru facility (complete with demonstration of how it works) and store customer facilities.
Lee and Rachel explained how their team supported local businesses, including SMEs, charities and some well-known local firms. “Our relationship-based approach really helps businesses thrive and sets us apart from other high-street banks,” explains Lee Currier, Merry Hill Metro Bank’s Local Director. “We also talked about our support for local female-led businesses and the regular business networking events we host at the store and how invaluable these face to face get togethers are for many local business owners who often manage their businesses on their own.”
Mike was interested in our ambition is to become the number one community bank by proactively connecting with and contributing to the local community through our financial education programme called Money Zone - which we have delivered to over 250,000 school children across the UK - in addition to enterprise sessions in local schools, raising funds for local good causes and spending time volunteering in the community.
