Metro Bank’s Orpington store donated nearly 100 items and £500 to help support Bromley Borough Food Bank as part of its Christmas Community Campaign to spread the warmth this winter. In recognition of the current cost of living challenges. Metro Bank donated £35,000 to over 70 community charities, all of which are local to its stores, instead of having a Christmas tree in each store.
Bromley Borough Food Bank is part of the Trussell Foodbank network which helps the one in five people in the UK who live below the poverty line.
Orpington colleagues, residents and businesses donated some of the items Bromley Borough Food Bank urgently needs including food, drink and household items.
‘’We would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who supported our campaign this Christmas,” explains Orpington Metro Bank Store Manager Daniel Shade. “The Bromley Borough Food bank does an amazing job in helping to provide for families and individuals in need and we are really proud that thanks to our customers and donors, we were able to help the Bromley Borough Food Bank continue the amazing work they do.’’
