Oxford Metro Bank Celebrates International Women’s Day

14th February 2023

Oxford Metro Bank will celebrate International Women’s Day by hosting a complimentary evening event (6-8pm) on Tuesday March 7th with guest speaker Colonel Jax Powell, Deputy Commandant RMAS (The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, University Officer Training Corps).

International Women's Day celebrates women's rights and inspires people to act in the ongoing fight for gender equality - this year’s IWD theme is Embrace Equity.  Colonel Powell will be sharing her journey and experiences of her 30 year career as a British Army Officer.

“As a community bank, we work closely with the Armed Forces especially where our stores have barracks locally,” explains Heather Wood, Oxford Metro Bank’s Area Director. “As a signatory of the Investing in Women Code, we actively support women in business and we are looking to celebrate International Women’s Day in all our stores. We’re committed to supporting women with access to tools, resources and finance and supporting them in the three key areas they struggle with namely networking, funding and mentoring.”

To book a place, please email either Grant.Shergold@metrobank.plc.uk or
