Oxford Metro Bank colleagues dusted themselves and everything else down to help the local Oxford charity Yellow Submarine get a new premises ready.
Yellow Submarine is an award-winning Oxfordshire charity that believes people with learning disabilities and autism deserve to live life to the full.
Metro Bank, gives every colleague a Day to Amaze – essentially a paid day off to support a local charity or good cause. Oxford Metro Bank colleagues Huma Rehman, Mohsin Malik, Aniket Salunke and Lee Kadiri used their Day to Amaze to deep clean an abandoned unit that the charity is now planning to use as storage to free up space in their main building to be able to host larger events.
“We love being given time off to make a difference locally,” explains Mohsin Malik, Oxford Metro Bank’s Assistant Store Manager. “We all loved working in a completely different environment for the day and seeing the transformation of the space from being dusty and cobweb ridden to a clean new space ready to be used. Our efforts will now enable the charity to host and support more people in our community.”
Metro Bank’s Oxford store is located at 4-5, Queen St, Oxford OX1 1EJ. The store is currently open Monday – Saturday: 8.30am - 6pm, Sunday: 11am - 5pm.
