Wolverhampton Metro Bank Colleagues Cycle 104 Miles to Support Local Charity
Colleagues from the Wolverhampton store of the UK’s community bank, Metro Bank have put their best foot forward and raised £127.13 during the 104 Challenge for The Haven Wolverhampton.
The Haven Wolverhampton supports women and children who have been subjected to domestic abuse and homelessness.
Every week, the UK records an average of two women killed by their partners making it one hundred and four women every year. The Haven’s 104 Challenge encourages people to run, walk or cycle one hundred and four miles to fundraise for women and children in vulnerable situations.
Colleagues Aman Dhillon, Store Manager and Jaz Govindan, Assistant Store Manager clocked one hundred and four miles on a static bike in store. All monies raised will go towards supporting the charity’s mission.
“As a community bank, we’re really delighted to have taken on this challenge to raise vital funds for women and children in need,” explains Aman Dhillon, Wolverhampton Metro Bank’s Store Manager. “Jaz and I had lots of fun taking turns on the bike during our breaks and really appreciate our colleagues for cheering us on. Thank you to everyone who helped us raise the funds. No one should have to go through domestic abuse or homelessness. We hope that by doing this we are able to make a difference to someone’s life.”
Metro Bank’s Wolverhampton store is located at 6-7 Dudley Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 3EY. The store is open Monday – Saturday: 8.30am - 6pm and Sunday: 11am - 5pm.
