Peterborough Metro Bank will host the launch of an Inspire 2 Ignite event on Wednesday March 8th where local business owners are invited to meet some of the county’s most entrepreneurial and inspired young people.
Inspire 2 Ignite actively works with 16-24 year olds, providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed, such as access to networks, investment and support into economic activity.
Inspire 2 Ignite is the purposeful project of local entrepreneur Alex Humes. Building on a previous successful event in Cambridge, Alex wants to target local Peterborough businesses looking to engage, inspire and attract their next generation of employees. His ambition is to engage 10,000 16-24 year olds through entrepreneurial experiences and events and inspire 5,000 to take meaningful action and activate 900 into industry and 100 onto the Ignite programme.
The complimentary event will be attended by businesses from across Peterborough and the surrounding areas, young people and organisations who work with young people. It is proudly supported by Metro Bank whose recruitment ethos is to hire for attitude and train for skill. The Bank fills its promotions with over 40% of internal candidates creating a fast track career development culture. Also speaking at the event will be Charlie Hanson – Charlie is just 25 but already a Metro Bank Local Business Manager and an ambassador for Inspire 2 Ignite. Charlie recently took part in the Curious Entrepreneur podcast where he shared his experiences with his peers.

The Inspire 2 Ignite event is on Wednesday March 8th from 5.30-8pm. All are welcome to come together with Peterborough's industry leaders to explore fresh ways of attracting talent.
