Metro Bank continues its fast paced expansion with the opening of its 23rd store in Windsor. To mark the opening, the UK’s most revolutionary bank will be holding Grand Opening celebrations on Friday 6th December. Windsor residents and businesses visiting the store will experience an array of entertainment; including stilt walkers, face painting, balloons and music, and most importantly, a new convenient customer focused bank for local people and businesses.

The new Metro Bank store can be found at 116-118 Peascod Street, Windsor SL4 1DW. Customers will be looked after by a dedicated team led by Local Director Trevor Sparks and Store Manager Nick Elkan.

Metro Bank launched in July 2010 with a focus on providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience to customers through a traditional banking model, coupled with amazing technology. Unlike any other bank in the UK, Metro Bank also provides free coin counting for customers and non-customers with Metro Bank Magic Money Machines, instant printing and replacements for lost or stolen debit cards*, and a 24 hour contact centre manned by people not machines.

All of these benefits can be enjoyed at a time that is convenient to local residents and businesses as Metro Bank is open 8am – 8pm Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm Saturday and 11am – 5pm Sunday and bank holidays, 362 days a year.

Customers wishing to reserve a Safe Deposit Box at the Windsor store can do so online in advance of the opening by visiting What’s more, Dogs Rule at Metro Bank, so customers in Windsor are invited to bring their canine friends along with them to receive their own treats.

Craig Donaldson, Chief Executive Officer at Metro Bank, said: “We are delighted to move into Windsor and become part of a community that we admire. Metro Bank is a community bank with each of our stores run by a local bank manager who works closely with local people and businesses to really understand their needs. This means we live and breathe our motto of ‘Local Bankers Making Local Loans’; something that has been incredibly well received locally at our nearby stores in Staines, Reading and Slough.

“Metro Bank’s continued success and growth is a triumph for amazing customer service. We know what customers want, and we’ve seen thousands of people join us for the unparalleled levels of service and convenience we offer. We are very excited that from 6th December people and businesses in the area will be able to switch to our award winning current account** in just seven working days through our Easy, Instant and Guaranteed service. We look forward to welcoming personal and business customers in Windsor to join us on our journey as we revolutionise British banking."

Commenting on the opening, Adam Afriyie, MP for Windsor, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Metro Bank to Windsor and it’s an honour to open their new store. Metro Bank is a new challenger bank which aims to offer choice in retail banking for people with busy lives and I hope it will be a great asset to our area."

The Windsor store opening is the latest step in Metro Bank’s expansion across London and the South East. Further stores are planned for communities including Edgware, Milton Keynes and Epsom.
