22nd March 2024

Wolverhampton Metro Bank colleagues recently welcomed its local Scouts group to its Wolverhampton store for a successful Money Zone session designed to empower the troop with essential money management skills.

Money Zone is a series of financial education lessons that Metro Bank offers to children - either virtually or in store. Money Zone comprises of four sessions - budgeting, saving, banking and the last session which takes place in store gave the students a behind the scenes look at the Bank including a visit to the vault and the chance to try the coin counting Magic Money Machine. Metro Bank has delivered its Money Zone programme to over 250,000 children in 2,900 schools.

Chloe Westley, Khatira Hakimi, Ishy Dhillon, and Lana Mohammed spearheaded the Money Zone sessions.

The highlight of the session was the treasury hunt, where scouts embarked on an exciting adventure to put their newfound knowledge into practice.

“Seeing the scouts thoroughly enjoy and engage with the session was incredibly gratifying,” says Wolverhampton Metro Bank Assistant Store Manager, Chloe Westley. “It’s moments like these that reaffirm the importance of investing in financial education for our youth.
