Metro Bank has opened a new store in Gateshead today, Friday 5th December. Gateshead marks the bank’s first location in the North East, as part of its strategy to expand its physical presence in local communities across the country.
Metro Bank opened its newest store in Salford Quays on Thursday 20th November, as the bank continues to grow its physical presence. Metro Bank Salford is the bank’s 77th store location and is based at Capital Quay.
Metro Bank celebrated its 76th new store opening in Chester City Centre with an Opening Ceremony on Friday 4th July. Jamie Christon, CEO of Chester Zoo and Chair of Marketing Cheshire said: “This is an exciting moment for Chester. In a time when many high street banks are closing their doors, Metro Bank is opening theirs. That decision speaks volumes. It shows a commitment to people, to local connection, and to the belief that physical presence — real people behind real counters — still matters.”
Metro Bank, gives every colleague a Day to Amaze – essentially a paid day off to support a local charity or good cause. Five Metro Bank colleagues – Ben Sizer, Glen Hall, Greg Deadman, Giuseppe Di Cecco and Nowrin Rashid – have just volunteered to help create a new Guinness World Record in the Chance to Shine challenge to create the largest cricket lesson.

Wood Green Metro Bank will host a Business Improvement District (BID) event at its High Road store on Thursday May 8th from 9am – 10.30am.
Hammersmith Metro Bank will be hosting a marketing workshop at its Kings Mall store on Wednesday April 16th from 2.30 – 5.30pm.
