Where do I need to go to get my currency?
Just pop into a store. Use our store locator to find your local Metro Bank. Please check the latest opening hours for each of our stores before you visit us.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Metro Bank customers: bring your card or ID in with you.
What if I don’t need / use the foreign currency I exchanged?
If you decide you don’t need the money anymore, you can sell the currency back to us. We will confirm the new exchange rate on the day you visit a store to complete this. Alternatively you can call us on 0345 08 08 500 to find out what the exchange rate is prior to visiting a store.
The money can be exchanged for cash or deposited directly into your Metro Bank account. Please be aware, if depositing foreign currency into a ‘regular’ GBP account or a Foreign Currency account, there is a daily deposit limit of £5000* for personal accounts and £10,000* for business accounts (including community accounts).
*This will be the GBP equivalent of the above limits using the exchange rate on the day of the deposit.
