Register and Reset your Credentials for Internet Banking

You can register for internet banking and manage your account from anywhere you have an internet connection. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BEGIN

Your 12-digit customer number

You can find this in the welcome letter or email you received when you opened your account. You can also find your customer number in the Metro Bank app under 'My details'. Still can't find your customer number?

Your Magic Word

You would have set this up or received it in the post when you opened your account. Magic Words last for 30 calendar days, so you may need to request a new oneDon't have your Magic Word?

Your UK registered mobile number

This needs to be the phone number associated with your account. You'll only need to enter the last four digits. Need to change your number? 

I can't remember my Magic Word, or it has expired

You would have set up your Magic Word or received it in the post when you opened your account.

To set up a new Magic Word, you can:

  • Visit a Metro Bank store.
  • Personal customers can call 0345 0808 500, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - you will then receive your Magic Word in the post, which will take 3 to 5 days.
  • Business customers can call 0345 08 08 508 - you will then receive your Magic Word in the post, which will take 3 to 5 days. Our specialist business team is available between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, you can contact us on 0345 08 08 500. 
I can't remember my 12-digit customer number

You would have received your 12-digit customer number in your welcome letter or email. 

If you've forgotten your number, you can:

  • Check the mobile app: Log in to the Metro Bank app and go to the More menu to access Settings, and select My Details. Your ID should be located under your name. 
  • Visit a Metro Bank store.
  • Personal customers can call 0345 0808 500, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Business customers can call 0345 08 08 508. Our specialist business team is available between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, you can contact us on 0345 08 08 500.
My UK mobile number has changed, how do I update it?

To change your phone number, you can either:

  • Visit a Metro Bank store.
  • Personal customers can call 0345 0808 500, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Business customers can call 0345 08 08 508. Our specialist business team is available between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, you can contact us on 0345 08 08 500.
My new password isn’t being accepted

Your password must be at least seven characters long and include:

  • At least one upper case character.
  • At least one lower case character.
  • At least one number.
  • No special characters or spaces.
I get an error when I enter my phone number

Make sure you enter only the last 4 digits of your registered UK mobile number and not the whole thing. If you think you need to update the mobile number we have on file, please get in touch

I don't have a UK mobile phone
  • If you're a personal customer: We're sorry, but you need a UK mobile number linked to your account so that we can securely send you a code to access internet banking. 
  • If you're a business customer: Please contact your Relationship Manager for help.
