Metro Bank colleagues from the Newbury store have partnered with Education Business Partnership, a charity whose mission is to equip young children with vital skills needed to reach their full potential when they eventually join the workforce. The Newbury colleagues supported the charity’s Ready Steady Jobs event aimed at introducing primary school children to different career choices and helping them shape their thoughts as they set off for secondary school.

A money mule is a person who is recruited, sometimes unwittingly, by criminals to gain access to their bank account with the promise of financial gain. Teenagers, young and vulnerable people are often targeted as money mules when fraudsters offered phones, games consoles or other high value items in exchange for their legitimate bank account numbers and passwords. In 2020, UK banks identified 8,791money mule accounts owned by people under the age of 21.
