When you’re a mortgage customer with Metro Bank with either a Residential or a Buy to Let mortgage you have the option of overpaying on top of your usual monthly payments. By making use of this you could save a considerable amount of interest and may also help you to repay your mortgage earlier.
For our Residential mortgage customers you can overpay by 20% a year and up to 10% for our Buy to Let customers. The amount you can overpay each year without incurring any early repayment charges is determined on the initial amount you borrowed and then subsequently on what your mortgage balance is each time you switch to a new rate.
Remember not to exceed your annual overpayment allowance or you will incur an Early Repayment Charge, details of this are shown in your mortgage offer.
