When you’re a mortgage customer with Metro Bank with either a Residential or a Buy to Let mortgage you have the option of overpaying on top of your usual monthly payments. By making use of this you could save a considerable amount of interest and may also help you to repay your mortgage earlier.
For our Residential mortgage customers you can overpay by 20% a year and up to 10% for our Buy to Let customers. The amount you can overpay each year without incurring any early repayment charges is determined on the initial amount you borrowed and then subsequently on what your mortgage balance is each time you switch to a new rate.
Remember not to exceed your annual overpayment allowance or you will incur an Early Repayment Charge, details of this are shown in your mortgage offer.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on 25 May 2018 and requires UK and EU organisations to clearly state what they use your personal data for, and what your rights are when it comes to this data and its use.
‘Contacting the Ombudsman’ (section 30)
Previously, customers could only ask the Financial Ombudsman Service to get involved with a complaint either eight weeks after it had been raised or once it was closed. Now, you can do this (in most instances) within 15 calendar days, or 35 calendar days in exceptional circumstances.
