Feeds are sent daily Monday to Friday.


Past transactions

Transactions from before you had a feed in place won’t be sent to Xero. You’ll need to input those manually – or, if you were already using Xero, just keep inputting your transactions as normal until your feeds start up.


Having problems connecting your account to Xero?

To connect your account to Xero, your personal information needs to match up. If the personal information you gave us is different to what you tell Xero, you’ll be asked to enter it again.

Common mismatches are:

  • ‘Invalid organisation’ – this might happen if your organisation name doesn’t match up between us and Xero. To make sure it’s an exact match, try copying and pasting the organisation name from the top left corner of your Xero screen.
  • ‘Invalid user’ – this might happen if your email address doesn’t match up between us and Xero. Again, try copying and pasting from your Xero screen. To see your email address, click on your name in the top right corner of your Xero screen, then click Account.

Xero has a number of pricing plans.

The fee for connecting your Metro Bank account is £1 + VAT per month, which will simply be added to your Xero subscription cost.

You can set up direct feeds from as many of your accounts as you like. You can find the terms and conditions on Xero’s website.

You need to send us a form giving Metro Bank authority to share your information with Xero:

  1. Download the Authority to Disclose Information form
  2. Complete the form and mail it to:

Can I set up my feeds from my internet banking?

If you use Business Internet Banking you can request feeds online through your internet banking. If you use Business Online Plus or Commercial Online Banking you need to complete the paper application form and send it back to us.

How much does it cost?

Your feeds cost £1 +VAT per account, per month. This is added on to your Xero subscription fee.
