What do I need to open a community current account?

You need to be classified as a club, society or charity with a turnover or annual balance sheet total of £250,000 or under, and no more than three account operators.

You’ll need to visit your local store to open an account. To make account opening a smooth process take a look at the documents you’ll need to bring with you to open an account. Help opening a business account.

The club, society or charity officials will also need to show proof of identity – in the same way as is required for opening a personal account. See the documents you need.

How can I get a large cheque for my event?

Get in touch with your Relationship Manager as soon as possible to discuss what we can do.

Can my school use your community current account?

These accounts are specifically for clubs, societies or charities with a maximum annual turnover of £250,000 and up to three account operators. If your school meets this criteria then you may be eligible. If you’re interested, pop into store and we’ll let you know how we can help.

Can I make and receive international payments from my Community Current Account?

Yes, you can make and receive international payments from your Community Current Account. See the Community Current Account Important Information Summary for associated inbound and outbound international payment charges.

Can I use internet banking with my Community Current Account?

Yes, you can access our standard Business Online Banking platform — free of charge. If your organisation requires access to enhanced online banking features, you may prefer to use our Commercial Online Banking platform. This comes at an extra cost. Compare our Business and Commercial Online Banking options to find out which platform will best suit your needs.
